Get to know us
My name is Kirsten. I'm a mom, wife and follower of Jesus. I am an Alabama transplant into the ever growing town of Cary, NC. That was 13 years ago.
I have had many past sewing adventures in my back pocket. They range from kid's clothing at craft shows, home decor and costumes. A few years ago, I joined a group that makes item for donation, like crocheted blankets, quilts and stuffies. I challenged myself to use as many scrap pieces of fabric I could to make quilts. During this time, my son graduated from high school, and I crafted a T-shirt quilt for him. I love the planning and creativity that goes into it. I adore that things that may have seen the end of their lifespan, be turned into something else functional.
My son helped me choose the name "The Tailorbird's Nest." This bird uses plant materials and spider silk to construct its home. I felt it represented a wonderful concept from nature that embodies reuse and repurposing.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope I can help create something unique and memorable for you.
Kirsten
